Argentiera is a ghost town in Sassari on the Italian island of Sardinia. It was once the centre of the island’s mining community but was abandoned in 1963.
Balestrino in Italy suffered from earthquakes over the years and eventually in 1953, the government took the decision to move the entire population to a new village nearby.
Conza Della Campania was destroyed in an earthquake in 1980 and rebuilt 5 miles away. The original town remains abandoned but can be visited.
